Even after the death of the Student Investor Challenge, many of us use stock market games as an extra-curricular activity. Students often really enjoy these experiences, but this article, originally published in the Wall Street Journal, brings into question whether it provides opportunities for students to learn about financial markets in a safe space or if, in fact, it teaches them damaging lessons by rewarding tactics which would be seen as ill-advised in the real world.
