Spring Statement Resources

Here are just a few activities based on the Spring Statement. They are more background/prep than actual analysis this time and are designed so that they can be completed independently, even by students who haven't had much experience of macroeconomics.

I'll be using these three sources:

  • Introduction from the official Spring Statement: There isn't too much content wise for this statement so I have the chance to spend a bit more time on how to approach potentially intimidating texts. The activities cover some of the more unfamiliar terms to help students to tackle it more confidently. You'll need to print pages 6-8 (marked 1-3)

  • BBC Key Points at a Glance : A nice, easy to read summary of the main points

  • The Spring Statement explained in 5 charts: An opportunity to practice handling charts
